OUR VISION
The Akwakwaa Community Foundation envisions self sustaining orphanages and schools where each child has: good food to eat; clean water and proper sanitation; licensed teachers and adequate supplies; access to the government sponsored health care system; a safe place to live and sleep; and a happy joyous life as they grow into adulthood.
OUR MISSION
The Akwakwaa Community Foundation provides administrative, health, and financial support to two orphanages (with schools) and a non-orphanage school, all located in the Adano Swedru region, about 150 kilometers from Accra, the capital of Ghana. Support is also provided to assist in the development of self sustaining businesses.
HOW YOUR DONATION IS USED
All donations made to the Akwakwaa Foundation are tax-exempt, and go directly to Africa to support our programs. The Foundation partners with a Ghanian nonprofit to administer the distribution of funds and monitor their usage. Receipts are obtained for each expenditure. All of our non-program administrative expenses, including twice-yearly site visits, are internally financed by donations paid by our Board Members and their families. So you can be sure your entire donation is used to feed, cloth, house, and teach the children.
